I would like to make flashcards. Is there a way to select a folder of photos or graphics and have them auto fill 16 (or 12 etc.) small rectangles and re-size to fit?

I’m able to drag from the finder onto the canvas of an open document to import multiple images using OmniGraffle 7.3 in Sierra. Give that a try to see if it at least takes some of the monotony out of Place Image.
Scripting may be a viable solution. It appears some in the community have looked into this in the past with some archived discussion at http://forums.omnigroup.com/showthread.php?t=8276.
If you would prefer a menu item, please email a feature request for multiple place of images to omnigraffle@omnigroup.com so that we can track the request officially. We do not currently support selecting more than one image in the Place Image dialog, but I can see why it would be a useful addition.
