Clean install OF on new Mac

I’m about to do a clean install on a new Mac. Is it advisable to transfer the OF preferences from the old to the new, and if so, is it just a matter of copying the old OF plist file? Or am I better off doing it manually?

While it’s certainly possible to transfer preferences by copying the underlying plist file, we can’t really vouch for the reliability of that method. With OS X sandboxing, the preferences plist moved into OmniFocus’s container, so finding it is not as simple as it once was. What’s more, the system preferences service doesn’t always respond well to changes in that file made outside of the app itself or the defaults command-line utility.

If you’re determined, you can likely find a way to make it work; however, I think it’d be more reliable in the long run to set up OmniFocus again as if it’s new – even though it’s a bit of a pain up front. Sorry about the inconvenience!
