Create a new project from template with current date as a title - script?

Hi,

I’m used to start my daily routing with “Brain-dump” set of tasks. I’ve created a template for this, and at the moment each morning I duplicate and rename it to the current date (DD-MM-YYYY format).

I would like to automate it, either with OF Automation, Apple Script or Keyboard Maestro.
The ideal workflow would look like this:

  1. I click some simple keyboard trigger (like e.g. Cmd+Shift+D)…
  2. The script:
  • duplicates my “brain-dump template” project
  • changes it’s name to current date in the DD-MM-YYYY format
  • moves this project into my “Dailies” project folder
  • and opens it.

I would appreciate any tips on how to approach it. My problem is that I’m not fluent in apple scripting, and quite novice user of Keyboard Maestro.

Many thanks in advance :)

Andy
