Custom perspective: eyeball view is confusing

Hi there,

Can someone point me to a resource that (hopefully clearly) explains how the [eyeball icon] relates to a given perspective?
Is it simply a way to temporarily modify the perspective?

If so, how can I re-initialize this perspective?
Is it simply a matter of clicking [revert] ?

I guess I’m having a hard time understanding how and why people would use this.

Thanks!

It’s just a way to modify a perspective…temporarily or permanently.
I usually use it to temporarily switch from viewing “available” tasks to “all”.

Thank you. I think that clears it up; I hadn’t realized it was part of the perspective interface. Furthermore, I don’t think I really grok’d the fact that every view is a perspective until now. Appreciated!
