I’ve been working on my Project list and deleting a Project no longer necessary. Unfortunately I deleted another one too, one that I did want to keep. Can I get it back? Do I work from a backup from my backup folder? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks ~ Jack

Yes, you can restore the project from a backup. You can see all your backups by going to File > Show Backups…
. Open a recent one and you should be able to drag the project from the backup window to your main OmniFocus window.

Again and again user come up with the same problems since years and I will not stop to promote the idea of a trah can. Look here for further discussions:

Somehow in my workday, I lost a top level context and all its sub contexts. I'm guessing as windows fight for focus, I hit the delete key while OF2 had focus on that top level context. It vanished. I've tried "Undo", no avail.
OF2 Dev Team - Why does the Delete key even work on the context view? Command-Delete should be required to delete a context from the list. I don't know when it happened (minutes? hours? days?) as this is a context I haven't used since last week. So I don't want to …
This morning, before having an adequate amount of coffee, I deleted an action on my iPad. Where do I go to retrieve it? I don’t see it on my Mac, either.
From now on, I promise to consume an adequate amount of coffee before opening Omnifocus.
Thanks!
I just sent this to Omni Support, but figured this would be useful here as well:
I’ve been using the trial of OmniFocus 2 for a number of days, and I really love it and want to buy it. However, there is one major issue that is keeping me from purchasing it. I keep running into the problem accidentally deleting a database object like actions, projects, folders, lists, and then not being able to fish it out of a “trash” section.
Today I accidentally deleted a folder with a number of projects and…
Hello
I am new to omnifocus2 and liking it so far. currently though i find that i will accidentally press the delete button while on in projects and then my entire project or project folder disappears.
So i have 2 question
1) is it possible to see deleted files and projects 2) is it possible to reassign the delete function such that i have to maybe press fn+delete or command+delete
i ask this as i deleted a larger project file and ont he mac its relatively easy (for me anyways) to hit t…
Am I the only one who thinks that at least (!) a confirmation message before deleting a task is not useful? (Fantastical for Mac and Evernote) integrated these functions after there have been huge requests by the community. I think if more people would write to the support we could change something.
I always run into paranoia that I might deleted something without even noticing it, since I am using two monitors and sometimes the focus is on omnifocus on the other monitor and I hit the delete ke…
Also Ken wrote something about it: Where does a deleted item go? iOs or Mac
