Dragging to BusyCal creates duplicates

Whenever I drag a task to BusyCal two entries are created in BusyCal. It does this if it’s in Month, Week or Day view.

Calendar entries are created properly if I drag them to Calendar or Fantastical.

Any ideas why this might be and how to fix it? The only difference I see is one calendar entry has the name of the Task as the Event, the other is Untitled.

I would guess you need to direct this to the folks at busycal, if it works correctly in OF it would not seem to an OF bug.

I don’t think it’s an OF bug either, since it works correctly in other calendar apps. I figured i’d check here…BusyCal doesn’t have forums.

I’ll share what i hear back from the BusyCal folks.

Busymac has a groups.google.com user group that they participate in.

You will need to log in with your Google or gmail account

Ah, thank you. For some reason I had in my head that google groups went away.

I noticed this today too - the one that is un-named has the link back to the OF task, the named one does not - odd.

Fantastical recognises the estimated duration too which is neat.

I keep finding different reasons to bounce between BusyCal and Fantastical as my default Calendar :-)

In case anyone else is interested, it’s not a bug, it’s how BusyCal parses the drag-and-drop spot. When you drag a task to the Finder two files are created, one with the task name and details and another with the URL.

BusyCal processes that as two events. Not sure what Fantastical (or the native Calendar app) is doing differently but they’re combining the two into one.

The BusyCal folks do say it’s on their wish list.
