Launch Services Trouble with New OmniOutliner 5 File Format

There is a known issue where Launch Services isn’t properly handling/recognizing OmniOutliner 5 .ooutline files. This can result in these files opening in the wrong app, showing a blank file icon, and not generating a Quick Look preview. All of these issues should be resolvable by rebuilding your Launch Services database. Here is what to do:

• Open Terminal.app (found in /Applications/Utilities)
• Paste in the following command:

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user

• Terminal will appear to freeze for a few moments as the command is processed. When it’s finished, you’ll see a new prompt appear in the window
• Wait for this, to happen then restart your Mac, and boot into Safe Mode
• Restart normally again

If you are still having issues after trying those steps please email us so we can looking into things with you.
