I am creating a network diagram and am using multiple layers for different aspects of the network. What I need to do is create a link between objects on one layer and another so that when I move the top layer object the other layer stays linked and moves with it, if that makes sense. Preferably where I could mouse over or click on the object in the visible layer and it would pop up the information hidden in the layer below.
Is this something that is possible? My guess would be yes and I am just too new to OG to figure it out. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Actions, also known as “Interactive Actions” and the Action Browse Tool in OmniGraffle Pro may be what you are looking for. You can show/hide layers and jump to a canvas or layer. Set Actions in the Properties inspector when you have an object selected. Details on what is in Pro vs Standard are available at https://www.omnigroup.com/omnigraffle/compare/.
A nice tutorial at http://www.elliottwhite.co.uk/how-to-create-interactive-prototypes-with-omnigraffle/ includes some examples. You might also use Presentation Mode in OmniGraffle Pro to show interactive prototypes.
