I love the location based tags, but the minimum distance at ~200 meters is twice the minimum distance one can set on an IOS device. This shouldn’t be much of a change to make and ideally, if possible, have a slider instead of the three options of ~200m, ~500m and ~1.0km
I’m guessing here but wonder if this coarser spatial resolution setting relates to the fact that (I believe) only cellular-enabled iPads have built in GPS and thus many (most?) iPads cannot be as precise about their location (presumably primarily geolocating by the identity and known location of the connected WiFi network)
You have a point. I hadn’t considered that, so I looked further. Apple prevents third parties from querying its crowdsourced Wi-Fi network database. I still want one, though; it should be straightforward to verify whether a modem exists and, if not, expand the radius for that device.
But Omni may not have that level of access.
plus for Omni it will depend how widely the location feature is used, how much effort they put into it.
if less that 0.01% use it (for example) there may be little value for Omni to investigate.
