Mobile slow / freezing regularly. Anyone else?

For about 2 weeks iPhone and iPad have been really difficult to use. especially strange because I was just congratulating the team for what seemed like major speed improvement before this started happening.

  • I use a shortcut to “add item to inbox”. It started failing ~10% of the time
  • “Share to OmniFocus…” failing more often than that.
  • Just launching the app, sometimes it will take 30+ seconds to load inbox or any perspective. Sometimes it won’t load at all. In fact, for the first time, the app permanently failed to launch on iPad. After several reboots, etc, eventually had to reinstall.
  • Assigning tags and projects from picker fails ~50% of them time
  • Widgets not updating reliably (this maybe not a new issue)

Im on the latest iOS 17 (I hear 18 is a hot mess). And I know how to report bugs to the team, just curious if others were seeing any of this.

UPDATE
seeing some improvement after deleting the 500 “completed” items in my inbox. Still testing…

Do you run the archiving step (mine suggests it monthly)?

It’s not just you. I’ve followed all that advice, but OmniFocus 4.5.1 is still laggy on my iPad, with a modest-sized database, eg. 5 seconds to display the contents of a perspective, noticeable hesitation when tapping on a widget.
