OG 5.4.4/10.9.5 litters WS 2008 R2 shares with undeletable folders

Running OmniGraffle Pro 5.4.4 on Mac OS X 10.9.5, saving .graffles to shares on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard.

Sometime within the last few months, I started seeing empty folders being created within these shares every time I edited an OG document. These folders have the same name as the edited document, plus some extra characters, for example if I’m editing Q2014013.4_foo.graffle I’ll have folders titled like:

  • Q2014013.4_foo.graffle.sb-860396ac-ZwnIW3
  • Q2014013.3_foo.graffle.sb-c75c2eb9-3ktcYS
  • Q2014013_foo.graffle-tmp.nosync.5rXTWq

They’re empty, and they’re undeletable, even after I’ve quit OG, unmounted the share, and re-mounted the share.

Does anyone else have this problem and know how to fix both the root cause and the undeletable folders? Is there some application or system logging I can do to figure this out?
