Just a counter observation in a Zen-like parable …
Someone who makes fine furniture by hand will likely have a toolbox full of different tools, even some that overlap in function. Interesting by comparison how some can be put off by the same approach in software.
We are of course not all makers of fine furniture. Our toolsets will reflect that. The balance is to know what each tool does best, to recognize that one tool can (and should) never do it all, and to minimize using two (or more) different tools to do pretty much the same thing. Then, we can set up our toolset and design our workflow effectively.
