OO Keyboard Behavior: Item Insertion & Traversing Columns

Could someone please help me figure out how to:

  1. Use the keyboard to insert an item above the item I’m currently editing.
  2. Use the keyboard to traverse columns besides arrowing through each character in each column?

Control + Return should insert a line at the current cursor location (if in the middle, it will break the line, if at the front of the line, a new line above)

For moving through text, arrow keys move one character at a time, Option + Arrow moves word by work, Command + Arrow will go front or end of line.
