OO5 Backward Compatibility?

If I upgrade to OO5 will my colleague running OO4 still be able to read / write to the same files?

My primary use for OO is to keep meeting notes in the app on my mac which I share with others via a synchronized Box.com folder. We don’t use the iOS app.

You have the option to convert the files to a new format. Don’t do that if you want backwards compatibility.

You can also export to the OO4 format if you make new files in v5 you want to send them.
