Table of Contents generation? Techniques and/or feature request

I’d really like to have some options for auto-generating a configurable Table of Contents for long and complex OmniOutliner docs.

In my case I have written a ~30-page user manual for a product, I’d like to be able to enter a “generate T.O.C.” dialog box (or sidebar control) and filter a TOC by level, apply formatting to it, etc.

Appreciate any suggestions for workaround techniques…

I would also like to build and maintain a TOC. In addition, I would like to generate the TOC for a document that consists of several separate files, with each file for example containing a chapter.

Yes please. Google Docs does this and it’s a pretty compelling feature.
