I haven’t used OO for a while, but for 4.x didn’t the inspector appear in a fixed pane instead of a floating palette? I see it now appears as a palette.
The inspector has always been a floating palette in OmniOutliner 4. The only applications we’ve released with sidebar inspectors are OmniGraffle 6 and OmniFocus 2.
