Why is adding a new item so cumbersome in the iOS version?

Excellent point. Editing in user-defined perspectives should at least match editing in the Projects and Contexts perspectives.

In OmniFocus 2.21 and later the New Inbox Item button can be dragged to the outline and dropped to create a new item at the spot of the drop. I think this might help some folks in this thread.

@dave does this only work on the iPad? If not,
Do you mind posting some exact steps as I’m not able to do this on the phone with the latest OF version. It starts the drag, but somehow no project is accepted as the drop target.

It’s a little odd, but you have to be in a project (among other tasks) to drop it. To get there, you have to tap on a project with another finger while dragging. A bit tricky, but when you have learned it, you could navigate anywhere you like with the new task.

It would be awesome if Add New Sibling would be also available as one of the long-press on action, next to Copy/Cut/Paste. Just believe it would be considerably faster in use.
