I am born in the Belgian Congo (now DRC), emigrated to South Africa where I studied Civil Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand.
I graduated in 1979 (no computers then, only Hewlett-Packard calculators!)
In 1983 I changed direction in my professional life and went into manufacturing.
I currently own an art studio specialising in African animal sculptures and carvings, made of leadwood (African hardwood species).
Three full-time artists are currently employed and two support staff.
Covid-19 has hit our business hard as we rely on foreign tourists who visit upmarket safari lodges where our art is displayed and sold. International tourism in Africa has pretty much dried up.
I am currently developing and designing the studio website to be launched in the near future.
