Why does a task inherit its parent group's due date?

Tasks do keep track of their own deadlines independently. But the assumption OmniFocus makes here is that if a group of tasks is due, each task in the group is due by that date as well. (So the effective due date of a task is its own assigned due date or its parent group’s effective due date—whichever comes first.)

@kcase Makes sense.

While we’re at it? What about tag behaviour? I never use tags for projects because, if I add an action within the tagged project it gets the project’s tag as well and if I move an item from Inbox to the project it doesn‘t get the project’s tag.
