i resisted the OF4 upgrade for quite a while, but finally decided I’m so dependent on this app that i should be funding development, so I went ahead and purchased OF4.
In moving from OF3 to OF4, I have 3 UI Qs for the new version:
Is there a way to restore the horizontal line separators between tasks in the Perspectives views? This was always displayed in OF3, but I can’t find it in OF4. IMO it makes lists much harder to read in OF4. Is this a setting I can toggle on? And if not, curious why the designers chose to take this away? (I have googled and Perplexity’d and searched this forum, haven’t found a clear answer to this)
Is there a way to change the font on Mac, or at least de-bold the text, in task lists? OF3 used a lighter font that was more readable for me. The OF4 font is thick and bolded, and makes it harder to read. I can’t find a setting for this.
One more request, I know this won’t happen: would love for an option on iOS to move the “complete” circle from the left (on OF4) back to the right (like OF3)
@Geoffairey, thanks yes, I’ve logged the feature request with support, they’ve told me not to expect :)
@Logan thank you for that pointer. That has indeed helped me find some font options that are more readable on Mac, so was very helpful. Interestingly though, they are still all bolded in my list of tasks, where OF3 was not. I find the non-bolded view of OF3 much more readable. Or it’s possible that it’s not a “Bold” Font but a different color palette, in OF4 they are very bright white (which bleeds and appear fatter), whereas on OF3 they were slightly gray-tone and more crisp and readable. [this item for me btw is for the Mac UI specifically]
I’m in agreement with you @ek7832 about the font being less readable. I too found the brighter font in OF4 bleeds and appears blurry compared to the darker font in OF3. I think that when using dark mode with a bright monitor that has an anti-reflective coat this is most apparent. Being able to darken the font would be useful. In the end I settled on a font that was more readable than the default: Avenir Book 19.0
