So one of the things that has frustrated me about OmniFocus is attempting to do mass edits for defer dates while using automation. I have downloaded the “Date Control” automations, which is good but the “Set New Dates” choices automatically goes to “Due Date” rather than “Defer Date”, which requires extra clicks.
ALL THAT TO SAY
Is there a automation out there where I can bulk edit defer dates, type my own defer dates, and do it all with minimal “clicks”?

In general, the easiest way to bulk edit defer dates is to select all the items you want to modify, then open the Inspector and edit the defer date field. This will edit all of the selected items at once, assigning the new date to all of them. (No special automation plug-ins are needed.)
If you’re looking to find an easy way to change everything with a specific date to a new specific date, then you probably want an easy way to select all the items that have the same defer date. To do that, I would create a custom perspective which groups and sorts items by their defer date:
If you wish, you can add perspective rules to focus in on a specific range of defer dates, or to focus in on specific projects or tags or whatever. Now all your items with the same defer date are grouped together, so it’s easy to select the items in that group and go to the Inspector to change all their dates at once.
