I have 4 projects with actions. In order to move all of them ahead I had to create a request at some organisation. In order to save me from creating 4 different requests I put everything in one request.
Does anyone have a good working system to cover these dependencies?
I was thinking about the creation of 4 actions at the end of the request project that reference the 4 projects, but then I‘d have to remember this logical dependency and that I have to wait for the request to be implemented before moving on.
On the other hand I could duplicate the requests waiting for and put a copy in each of the 4 projects. Reviewing my waiting for list sorted alphabetically I would see the 4 (or 5) identical waiting fors.
I‘m a GTD user and am looking for something that fits that and works well with OF.
ServiceNow - 04.03.2025 - Ticket-ID: XYZ - … what to implement
Azure Firewall
Create ticket …
Move on with dependent projects
Project 1
Project 2
Project 3
Project 4
Made the whole thing sequential. The 4 projects each just have the project name and no tags.
I had to do this on OF Web. But due to its lack of a duplicate function I did not take the time to create the „ ServiceNow - 04.03.2025 - Ticket-ID: XYZ - … what to implement“ action 4 times instead (it has a tag, and the URL to the ticket in its note). So that was the simplest I could think of.
It would have been more correct to pause the 4 projects, but they are more collector projects for 4 different clients and have more than only the dependent topics in them. There I typically use action groups for different outcomes.
After the create ticket there would be a Waiting For for the ticket.
I was looking for a good method for my question. Don’t want to go down the rabbit hole and find a complex solution. I prefer to decide in the situation and stick to simple steps.
I know I have done some similar solutions, but just because forum members asked for them and I liked the challenge. Just don’t want to have to remember to many plugins. At work I have OF Web only anyway.
