When using the “Cross” shape, the text alignment works the “other way around” - e.g. align top will align the text to the bottom; align bottom will align the text to the top.
- Select the shape tool and from the shape library select “Cross”.
- Draw out a cross shape.
- Double click the shape and enter a few lines of text.
- Select “Align Top” from the Type Inspector. The text will be aligned to the bottom.
- Select “Align Bottom” from the Type Inspector. The text will be aligned to the top.
