Can I put a Graffle diagram in an Outline?

I see this thing called LinkBack, which sounds promising, but I don’t know what it is. I’m using Outliner to organize ideas on software design. I often want a drawing/diagram too, so if I could put one in the outline, it would be great. I know I could can a screenshot of OmniGraffle and just put that image in the outline. But I’m wondering if I could have a diagram that is like a live view of a canvas or area in an OmniGraffle document. It would also be cool if I could click on it and go to the diagram, sort of like what I’m seeing with these new omni-links.

Okay, so I can copy an object(s) in Graffle and then paste it into an outline. Then I can double click the diagram image in Outliner and it opens again in Graffle, but as a new document with just the object that I pasted. That’s pretty good.

It would be cool if I could make it go to the objects in the original diagram, but if not I can make this work.

I guess the diagram in the outline is now it’s own thing, separate from the original diagram that I used to copy it at first?

I think this is how it was designed. When you embed content it recognizes the source as omnigraffle, so makes makes a duplicate omnigraffle file that can be used to edit the embedded content. I think this is to prevent unintended change to the original source file, which might not be apparent to user, who may regard whatever was pasted as embedded separate content. so the linkback is to the app that created the diagram rather than the original source file.
