Can I set the z-axis values on objects? (send to back)

Just trying to tweak a script and some objects are drawing over top of others and I want to be able to manually define the drawing order. Obviously one route is to draw the objects from the bottom up, but I don’t know the required ordering ahead of time.

So I’m basically looking for the applescript syntax for the send to front, send to back UI commands.
