I’m experiencing this same bug. I’ve submitted a crash report. I would suggest others do the same, and hopefully the fix is not too difficult.
The bug seems to be fixed int OmniOutliner 5.5 (current in public testing, see https://omnistaging.omnigroup.com/omnioutliner/).
