Installed Clip-o-Tron 3001, and it works well when OF is already open, but if not, then it opens 2 instances of OF (1 bouncing like crazy demanding my sync server password) and the other just sat there - have to quit, and the mail item isn’t added.
KC has responded via Twitter that this is an Apple problem with confused sandboxing calls :( Only solution appears to be to keep OF open…
