Copy as PDF - does it create a separate Omnigraffle file?

When I create a smart object using the Copy as PDF, where is that object saved? If I double-click it after pasting, it opens a new Omnigraffle document. Is this truly a separate document? If I send my file to somebody do I have to do something special to make sure the objects go with the file? I don’t see any new files named “LinkBack from…” in the folder where my main file is.

Thanks in advance!

The .graffle container can be seen as a folder. The pdf is saved within the .graffle container as image1.pdf, image2.pdf,…,imageN.pdf depending on how many pdf files you have.
So when you send the file to someone else, the objects will be sent along with the file since they’re contained within the .graffle file.
