Creating alternating repeat tasks

Morning all,

I have a couple of tasks:

  • Quick-clean my room

  • Tidy my room

  • broom my room

  • Thorough-clean my room

  • Tidy my room

  • broom my room

  • mop my room

I’d like to clean my room every week, alternating between quick-clean and thorough-clean. Today I’d clean quickly, next week I’d clean thoroughly, the week after that quickly, and so on. I want the repeat to be based on the defer date, so if I planned to clean yesterday and I finally cleaned today, the next cleaning (which will be the alternate task) will be in one week from today.

How should I express this in OmniFocus?

I forgot to note that right now I have the two tasks separate, repeating every two weeks by defer-date. This gives me the alternating effect, but if I miss a date then I need to sync this info to the other task as well, to keep the two tasks one week apart. I wonder if there is a way to link the two tasks, to express this alternate repeat nature of the two tasks.
