Enhancement: Filter improvements

Please consider the following enhancements to filters:

  • In the sidebar view, allow the ability to right-click to create a new filter from scratch. The current functionality in the search bar is not the most intuitive way to create a new search filter
  • When creating a filter against a colum with a “Drop-down” data type, allow the ability to choose a value of “None”. This will create a filter that shows all rows that do not have a value assigned to that column.
  • Allow an x-callback-url to a filter. This will allow a document to be opened with a filter already selected. I am using my current documents to track projects (with a column for status). I would like to open my document with the status “Active” pre-selected.

Good ideas. I would add to that the option to display parent AND children items when filtering. Currently, only parent items are displayed, which is good for context, but the children items belong to their parents and ought to be displayed with them.

With these dividends, we can continue our work full steam ahead on our exciting slate of upcoming releases, like bringing a Kanban view to OmniFocus later this year, the anticipated cross-platform launch of OmniGraffle 8, and a first public look at OmniOutliner 6.

Very curious about what they have got in store here. Changes to filtering? Row level checkboxes (please!) May be a tagging system for items/rows?

Not much change in omnioutliner for a while other than system compatibility.
