Forecast widget prefers past items

The forecast widget on the Mac seems to have a preference for past items. If there are items in both the past and today sections, then the widget will only list the past items. Wouldn’t it be more useful to display today’s items?

Also behind that widget there is a setting “Show Task Titles” , which doesn’t seem to have any effect. Does anyone know what it’s for?

I see the same behavior in my Forecast widget. It would be nice if we were able to touch the days on the widget and have it update, but I understand that’s probably beyond the scope of iOS widget interactions.

However, it would be nice for them to add a second setting to choose which day we’d like to show, be it past, today, or today+X. We should submit that as a feature request!

It’s merely showing the oldest items on the assumption that those are the items you’d want/need to do first as they’re overdue.

You can create a perspective which only shows items due today and show that on a widget.

Thanks. I probably should have mentioned that I’m using forecast mostly for planned dates, so the “past” items generally aren’t overdue, and do not deserve more focus than today’s items. Also, a forecast widget shows the item counts: a custom perspective can’t do that.
