Here’s what I get when I move a line:
I’d like to just shorten the line without having the attached objects move proportionately. I’ve been searching through options and have tried various key combinations. No help so far.
Any suggestions?

Sorry for the late reply (as I just joined the forum), but if you still have this issue, here’s my advice. You’ll want to select the point of the line that is moving and (while holding the command button), move the point anywhere on the canvas (not attached to any object) so it is no longer connected to the line you’re moving. Then you may adjust the size of the line you want to adjust. When done, you can move the point back and let the line snap in to place. If you’re having an issue with having a straight line, hold the shift key and it should go straight across.
