iOS notification — put title in headline and omit the due date

In iOS, when a task produces a notification, it is formatted as “title: task date; subtitle: task title”. This is problematic for two reasons:

  1. Since iOS notifications already display the date at which they fired, the due date in the title is just extraneous information
  2. When iOS reads notifications aloud (e.g. when headphones are connected), it will read the whole date in the notification title before getting to the task title (which is what I actually care about!)

Ideally iOS notifications would make the task title the notification title and not include the task date in the notification (since again iOS already includes it in the notification).

Good point

If you want to submit a feature request, you need to send it to the support team at Omni. They won’t necessarily pick it up here @Bert

I agree that the task title should be front and centre. I don’t know why you’d need anything else.

But then I don’t use notifications with OmniFocus
