Is the recent update to OmniPlan 4.9.5 Standard version in fact a down-grade?

Dear all,

I noticed a free update to OmniPlan 4.9.5 (for Mac)

Export — Microsoft Project MPP and XML export options are no longer accessible when running Standard edition of OmniPlan (these export options require OmniPlan Pro).
Shortcuts — Shortcut actions which require scripting features are no longer available when running Standard edition of OmniPlan (AppleScript and Omni Automation scripting require OmniPlan Pro).

Am I understanding this correctly? Is this update in fact a down-grade for users with the Standard edition? Can anybody from Omni elaborate on the reasons for this, please?

Thank you,

Theo

Apologies for the confusion @theodekreijger! Yes, Microsoft Project export and scripting actions require OmniPlan Pro - a bug in a previous release of OmniPlan had inadvertently made them available to all users, and this release corrected that bug. That said, if you purchased the Standard edition of OmniPlan under the impression that this functionality would be available to you, I’d like to make that right. Could you send an email to omniplan@omnigroup.com so that we can work with you on this?

Thanks for the reply Ainsley,

I’m using OmniPlan Pro and I’m doing a lot of (Apple)scripting at the moment. No problem there … works fine. But I didn’t know that those features were not meant for the Standard version in the first place. As some customers use OmniPlan Standard I thought that I should ask my question. But thank you for the offer :)

Kind regards,

Theo

Thanks for the heads up about this change could be perceived @theodekreijger! I’ve updated the online release notes for clarity: https://www.omnigroup.com/releasenotes/omniplan/4.9.5
