Is there a way to create a keyboard shortcut to edit the current perspective?
You can press ⇧⌘V to show and hide View settings for the current perspective.
On a side note, dragging the View settings pop-up will detach from the toolbar and make it a floating window. This can be handy when experimenting with perspective settings.
What do you have in mind?
In the Icon list on the top of the desktop version you see a symbol of an eye. Press that and you see the settings pop up. If not adjust the symbol list accordingly.
You can modify the filter rules of custom perspectives. See chapter ‚ Adjusting Filter Rules using Omni Automation‘ on OmniFocus: Perspective
(I should first share that I prefer using my keyboard over a trackpad…)
For example, I have a perspective for each of my different clients. Sometimes, I want to tweak the configuration while the perspective is displayed. Currently, I need to take my hands off my keyboard, right-click the perspective displayed on the sidebar, and click edit.
I know the above workflow may not sound like much, but I wish I could define a keyboard shortcut that will display the configuration of the active perspective.
ohhh! I didn’t know that! This definitely helps, but I ultimately wish I didn’t have to take my hands off my keyboard.
If you would have a perspective per client (how many?). Then you could use a Apple Shortcut to modify a perspective‘s favorite setting. E.g. if you have 10 clients you could have 10 perspectives. An Apple Shortcut could modify the favorite setting (1 of 10) and you use the ⌘ + 1, ⌘ + 2, … keyboard shortcut to call the perspective in the perspective sidebar.
That’s most likely possible. But to find the right approach I‘d need more information about how you work. E.g. if you have 100 clients it’s not a good solution to create 100 different perspectives. Then the solution needs to look different.
