License for contents of omni-automation.com

Hi,

I was looking for the license for the information on omni-automation.com, is that in the public domain, or subject to a Creative Commons license? I found nothing about that on the site itself. Is there any policy in place for using that information to create tutorials, examples etc.?

Greetings. The Privacy Policy page has the disclaimers regarding website content and 3rd-party references and links. You are pretty much free to use the provided materials to learn, create, and share tools and concepts for the betterment of the Omni Automation community. Cheers!

That’s a (lack of) warranty statement. An open source (say MIT) licence would be handy - if I understand the original question.

Many thanks, that’s exactly what I was looking for.

Indeed, explicit is better that implicit, that’s why I asked.

For content where there is not much of a “source”, I would typically use a sticky Creative Commons license, specifically CC BY SA.

The license statement appears before the portion quoted above:

PERMISSION IS HEREBY GRANTED, FREE OF CHARGE, TO ANY PERSON OBTAINING A COPY OF THIS SOFTWARE AND ASSOCIATED DOCUMENTATION FILES (THE “SOFTWARE”), TO DEAL IN THE SOFTWARE WITHOUT RESTRICTION, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE RIGHTS TO USE, COPY, MODIFY, MERGE, PUBLISH, DISTRIBUTE, SUBLICENSE, AND/OR SELL COPIES OF THE SOFTWARE, AND TO PERMIT PERSONS TO WHOM THE SOFTWARE IS FURNISHED TO DO SO, SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

THE ABOVE COPYRIGHT NOTICE AND THIS PERMISSION NOTICE SHALL BE INCLUDED IN ALL COPIES OR SUBSTANTIAL PORTIONS OF THE SOFTWARE.

(retrieved today from the home page: https://omni-automation.com/)
It’s not a standard license, like MIT or a CC variant.

Hope that helps.
