I’ve got a ton of home maintenance and other tasks in Omnifocus. It would be really nice to be able to log these items to a calendar when completed, or maybe there is a view I am missing within the app itself?
For logging to a calendar I assume something could be done via automation if I went that route?

Yes that‘s possible. I did something similar for actions with deadlines using Apple Shortcuts. Before you start, you should get your requirements straight. It can easily get complicated with long shortcuts, you don‘t want to regenerate events already existing, need to figure out their length and more.
