Is there a way to create a perspective that only shows items that I marked as completed more than a month ago?
I see the ability to choose defer or due dates, for example, but not “date completed” or “date dropped.”
(The reason why I want to do this, is because I have thousands of tasks, and purging old ones every couple of weeks definitely speeds OmniFocus up. The only option in the built-in completed perspective is “Completed within the last month” This is just above the “completed within the last week.” In other words, those completed more than a week ago, which is way too soon. I want it to be at least a month ago, and ideally a bit more.)
Also note that Has date in range’s “between” option allows you to leave off either end-point if what you want is simply “before” or “after”. So if you want everything completed more than a month ago, you can say:
I recently purged too much (precisely what this new perspectives will prevent), so I’m going to have to wait a month to confirm it works. I have a reminder to do so!
Meanwhile, here’s a question/concern regarding this:
When you group a perspective by completed date, the list you’re given is:
Completed yesterday
Completed within the last week
Completed within the last month
Not completed
That’s unclear and potentially misleading – or I’m misunderstanding. If I completed an item today, then it applies to ALL those categories. It was indeed within the last day AND the last week AND the last month.
This is the case for the default “Completed” perspective as well.
Is there a way to have it be something like this?
Completed within the last day
Completed between 1 day and 1 week ago
Completed between 1 week and 1 month ago
Completed between 1 month and 2 months ago
Completed more than 2 months ago
