I have a project containing a note with only a couple of carriage returns in it, but which I’m pretty sure had a long list of items—and that I accidentally deleted some years ago. (I don’t have those backups on my system, because they are overwritten after the 100th oldest backup.)
I opened ~/Library/Containers/com.omnigroup.OmniFocus4/Data where the backups live, then browsed Time Machine backups. I was able to restore a backup from December 2023, but it did not contain the note contents I was looking for. Although Time Machine lists backups far earlier than that, when I click on one in, say early 2023 (I’ve tried a number of listed backups including in 2022), nothing happens.
I’m wondering if the OmniFocus backups location changed around 2023 or earlier, and if so, how/if I could restore those older OF backups (maybe restore a larger chunk of my Library?).
I also thought maybe those older backups are no longer present because of being deleted by Time Machine due to space constraint on my backup drive, but it currently shows 2.5TB available, so I don’t think that is the case.
