Stubborn window won't disappear

Please help me if you can. I’m using version 2.12.4, the OSx version is 11.6

When I start OmniFocus a textless gray window appears, centered horizontally and about 1/4 of the way down from the top of the screen. On top of that appears a message that says “Opening OmniFocus document”. The message disappears and the main window opens, but it appears behind the grey window. Now, that grey window will not go away, won’t move but blocks my view regardless of where I move the main window, it will not persist if a change to a different program but reappears when I move back to OmniFocus.

The functionality of Omnifocus seems unaffected but it’s very uncomfortable having to move the main window left and right all the time only to see what I’n writing.

I suggest contacting Omni support (support@omnigroup.com). Since OmniFocus 2 was last updated in 2018, and MacOS 11 was released in 2020, I suspect some incompatibility is responsible.
