V6 Same Outline In Two Tabs or Windows, and Thanks!

I’m finding OO6’s new ability to have the same outline open in two different tabs or windows incredibly useful. I can, for example, have the unstructured notes from a meeting in one window, and use them to update information and action items in the second window. I love how the outline state (what’s collapsed or focused) in each window can be independent.

For a long time now I’ve “run my life” off OmniOutliner. I keep massive amounts of information, history, and action items relevant to both my work and personal lives in it. It’s perhaps the most important software I use. The upgrade to V6 for me has been problem-free. Thanks for all the work you put into it!

Thank you for sharing.

Are you using that feature in macOS or iPadOS ?

I’d love to do what you’re doing but I can’t figure out how to do it on Mac OS? Any tips you can provide? Like you, this would be a great feature for me to use.

Sure. Just select a tab, go to the Window menu, and select "New Tab On [it will show the tab currently selected]. You’ll now have two tabs with the same outline. You can then drag one by its tab so you have two windows on the same outline.

Perfect! That was simple. I’ll be using this tip a LOT in the future. Many thanks.
