What is the recommended way to update automatically scheduled tasks progress in a project?

Hi,

Say, I have a project that contain tasks that are automatically scheduled which is started from 1/1. At 1/2, I want to go back to update the progress. What is the “correct” way to update the progress for 1/1 in this scenario ?

Right now OmniPlan automatically move uncompleted tasks to 1/3 when I open the project. So I have to:

(At 1/2)

  1. set current edit date to 12/31 (So OmniPlan schedule tasks as it originally did)
  2. run catch up to date to 1/1

I was thinking is there a better way to do it ?
